Senior Software Engineer - Virtual Training
Engenium is recruiting a Snr Systems Engineer for a virtual training program.

This is a great opportunity to join a mid sized company and lead the development of a product and a team to create a re-configurable virtual training product.
Due to the nature of the work candidates must be Capable of obtaining and maintaining US Department of Defense (DoD) secret security clearance.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Works with minimum direct technical supervision. Provides project leadership oversight to assigned software team(s) to meet customer development and delivery requirements. Collaborates with Manager, Software Engineering on team performance matters.
Job Summary:
The Senior Software Engineer is expected to apply effective team leadership techniques and industry standard (e.g., ISO 9001:2008, CMMI, applying Waterfall, Spiral and Agile development methods) analysis and design techniques to design and develop complex software systems for surface and subsurface trainers. Enhances corporate design capabilities and standards, while leading the technical efforts of the engineering team. Requires researching and applying advanced mathematical models, shipboard system modeling, graphical models and programming techniques to design, develop, maintain and extend innovative products and solutions for simulation and training.
Education / Experience:
Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience in an engineering discipline with a minimum of ten (10) years of directly related simulation training systems experience, and four (4) years of simulation and modeling engineering software development experience (e.g.,
surface/subsurface shipboard systems) and including software development experience in a gaming environment (e.g., Unity, Unreal, Cry Engine).
Team leadership experience with teams of 5 -10+ engineers desired.
Experience with flight/weapon simulation systems is a plus (e.g., OFT, WST, real-time executives, distributed interactive simulation, avionics, I/O, aural cueing systems, flight, engines, 1553, multi-function displays interface, visual systems etc.).
Functional Knowledge:
Must have a thorough understanding of computer architectures and operating systems, game engine design, the design and analysis of algorithms, experience with programming languages such as C# (and preferably C/C++), use of integrated development environments (e.g., Visual
Studio, KDevelop), and the use of configuration management tools (e.g., Subversion and AccuRev) and requirements analysis/management tools (e.g., DOORS, TFS.)
