Document Control Specialist based in Orlando, FL.
My client is seeking a Document Control Specialist responsible for the implementation of a Document control process to include comprehensive document management system for all internal and external production-related documents; to be utilized by all program management, production, and other resources.

Duties

The document control specialist position collects, maintains and distributes all documents necessary to define product configuration and control manufacturing processes that insure conformance to customer requirements; develops and maintains a comprehensive filing system and computer database for all documents to be retained in the document control center; manages the operation of the document control center to ensure that all users have the latest revision of appropriate documentation in a timely manner.

Essential Functions

• Collect and maintain files of the latest revision level documentation necessary to define product configuration and control manufacturing processes.
• Timely distribution of latest revision level documentation to all appropriate users and ensure that obsolete documentation is removed from distribution.
• Maintain a computer database of all filed documentation that ensures fast retrieval of documents.
• Perform clerical typing duties to generate documents as necessary.
• Coordinate the Document control functions, oversee controlled data
• Establish and implement configuration processes, to include cataloging, maintaining release control, updating, and approval process of controlled document
• Establish and maintain a drawing/document/software/hardware administration

Requirements

• 5 years related experience with document control
• Extensive hands-on experience and understanding of Document control systems, practices, and processes
• Experience with production activities including production control, engineering, and quality
• Experience reading mechanical and Electronics drawings and documents
• ISO 9001 and AS 9100 training is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs: Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision and in a team environment.

Desirables

• Familiarity with MIL STD’s
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• Electrical / Mechanical Degree or formal training certificates

• Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience within contract manufacturing.
